Watch: Self-Cleaning Pumping System for reducing solids build-up in wastewater applications

The PIF team had the opportunity to interview Water Sector expert Andrew Barry whilst Xylem were exhibiting at the Pump Centre Conference about the innovative products on display.

One of the products on display was the TOPS Packaged Pumping Station which is a patented self-cleaning benching unit which reduces solids build up in the sump resulting in reduced pump failures, and costly maintenance call outs.

When asked about the importance of energy saving for the future of pumping, Andrew Barry responded:

“The wastewater sector is very much focused on energy reduction at the moment, manufacturers & suppliers need to be delivering energy efficient products. However, ultimately you need to be delivering reliable products. To reduce energy costs and maintenance costs, there need to be a combination of energy-saving features & product or system reliability.”
