Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2019

Vietnam’s leading exhibition on machinery and technology for manufacturing and supporting industries, Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2019, rolled into Hanoi during August. Thousands of delegates from the Asian nation’s manufacturing industry visited the trade stands at the Hanoi International Centre of Exhibition to network and find out more about the technological innovations set to shape the Industry 4.0 era in Vietnamese manufacturing. PIF found out more about this major industry event.

The Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2019 took place at the Hanoi International Centre of Exhibition (ICE) from 14-16 August. This year’s Expo saw more than 10,000 “forward-looking industrialists”, comprised of OEMs, engineers and production managers descend on the Vietnamese capital to develop solutions, partnerships, and advanced knowledge through a host of on-site seminars and activities.

In the Industry 4.0 era, when machinery and equipment are designed to improve processes through automation and self-optimization, VME provided an ideal platform for nearly 200 brands from almost 20 countries to showcase their state-of-the-art machinery and technology under the theme of “Smart Factory”.

Other events at the VME

Co-located at VME were three other significant events: Industrial Components & Subcontracting Vietnam 2019, Vietnam Sheet Metal 2019 and ROBOT X Hanoi.

Engaging with numerous parts makers from a wide range of sectors was the primary focus at Industrial Components & Subcontracting Vietnam 2019. The event brought together manufacturers working on automotive component parts, electronics parts, engine parts, mechanical parts, metal parts, materials and semi-finished products, to name but a few.

Meanwhile, Vietnam Sheet Metal 2019 focussed on the sheet metal industry in Vietnam, introducing visitors to new sheet metalworking technologies and the latest innovations. Finally, ROBOT X Hanoi gave visitors the chance to immerse themselves in a high-tech interactive robotics zone that showcased the next generation of space-age robots designed to perform multi-tasks for smart manufacturing applications.

International Pavillions

A highlight that captured the attention of the crowd was the International Pavilions on show. Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan all hosted their own International Pavilions, providing an opportunity for OEMS and other manufacturers to source products and services directly from some of the most prominent smart manufacturing countries.

During the duration of the Expo, a complimentary business matching service gave visitors and exhibitors alike the chance with foreign investors, exchange ideas, and generally create some international connections. Meanwhile, the "Shows in show" guided tour introduced participants to a wave of ultramodern technologies, machinery, and solutions from selected exhibitors whose products included everything from parts and components to robotic technologies.

This year’s edition of Vietnam Manufacturing Expo was hailed a great success and already organisers, exhibitors and visitors are looking ahead to the 2020 instalment of this popular South East Asian event.
