Stay safe with Murrelektronik
In every industrial application, safety is vital. Whether you require an emergency stop button or a safety relay, Murrelektronik has the product for your system. In this article, PIF spoke to Murrelektronik to learn about their products that are specifically designed to prioritise and provide higher levels of safety for your application.
Safety relays such as MIRO SAFE+ provide a universal solution, enabling your system to work correctly or fail in a safe way. As safety is such an essential element of any industrial application, Murrelektronik MIRO SAFE+ safety relays are adaptable to accommodate your specific application requirements. An essential aspect of the MIRO SAFE+ is that it can help achieve performance level e (PLe) according to EN 13849-1 safety standards.
Just some of the other safety benefits of the MIRO SAFE+ safety relay include:
- Emergency Stop Monitoring
- Guard Door Monitoring
- Light Barrier Monitoring
- Two-Hand Controls
Murrelektronik understands that every system has its own unique safety demands. Because of this, the MIRO SAFE+ comes in a range of variants. Each variant ensures that MIRO SAFE+ is flexible to the needs of your system and provides your application with the most suitable safety outcome.
For example, the MIRO SAFE+ T 1 24 is a compact relay designed for applications that require both instantaneous and delayed contacts. On the other hand, the MIRO SAFE+ Switch H L 24 has multiple uses for an emergency stop, guard door, light curtain and magnetic switch applications and has three N/O and one N/C contact.
From the wide voltage input at 24 VDC to the IP40 housing, each MIRO SAFE+ is designed with functions to benefit your application. Each module comes with clear label plates and an LED status indicator on the front, as well as pluggable spring clamp terminals.
Emergency stop and reset buttons
Emergency stop and reset buttons are an essential error-free addition to your safety application. Murrelektronik’s are connected with pre-wired M12 cables and are available in two different versions, depending on what you require. Their emergency stop and reset buttons are suitable for almost all applications, and are complemented further by their ease of installation. Your emergency stop button can be assembled in 3 easy steps:
- Screw the metal cup
- Snap on the housing
- Connect the M12 cable
The pre-wired M12 cables can be either 4, 5 or 8 pole, and are a timesaving solution due to the elimination of wiring errors. The 42 mm model, which is compact and designed to connect to 40mm standard aluminium profiles, has the ability to combine two control devices. While the 72mm model is designed to prevent accidental triggering and comes with an optional light ring.
Murrelektronik also prioritises safety with their Exact12 safety distribution boxes. Alongside your eight standard sensors, you can now connect eight safety outputs that are easily identifiable by their yellow markings. Exact12 safety also meets the safety standards EN ISO 13849-2, is vibration resistant and resistant to coolants and oil.
