Pump Centre Conference 2014 Heralded a Major Success
The annual Pump Centre Conference, which took place on Wednesday 30 April at Telford's International Centre, has been heralded a major success by exhibitors and organisers of the show.
More than 80 exhibition stands, from the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of pumps and pumping related equipment, went on display at the UK's leading conference and exhibition for pumping systems.
New innovations for pumping systems and designs
Organisers, the Pump Centre, are a membership organisation that provide their members with a range of services associated with pumps, pumping systems and related plant and equipment. Benefits include discounted training, consultancy support, and collaborative project opportunities.
John Howarth, from the Pump Centre was delighted with the attendance and positive feedback received from exhibitors at this year's conference.
He said,
It's important not only to have the basics right but to incorporate all the new innovation that's being developed and including that within your pumping systems and pumping designs.
It's very important to us what our members say because if our members aren't happy, we're not happy. If our members are happy, we're ecstatic.

Glowing feedback from attendees
PIF can report that according to the glowing feedback from attendees that we surveyed, the Pump Centre has reasonable grounds to be over the moon about the success of this year's event.
Frank Cooper, from Bedford Pumps has been a perennial supporter of the event and is planning to keep it that way. He said, “We were one of the original members of Pump Centre and we're very pleased to see that it's grown to be the UK's recognised number one.
“So we're very much pleased to be associated with it and we really congratulate the Pump Centre on doing a wonderful job. We'll be here next year and hopefully many years to come,” he added.
Dan Banks, from ABB agreed that the conference was a pivotal forum for the pump industry. He commented, “The Pump Centre Conference is the one time of the year when the whole water industry comes together. You can be guaranteed to see everybody you want to see in one place, on one day, and I think that's what makes it really strong.”
Among the loyal advocates of the Pump Centre Conference are ongoing sponsors, PRÜFTECHNIK. For them it's a critical date in the calendar to keep abreast of industry trends and secure valuable face-time with customers.
Colin Pickett, from PRÜFTECHNIK said, “We are an innovative company and we have to be at the forefront. So we like to be at these exhibitions and meet our customers and obviously future customers.”
For many exhibitors, the chance to network with pivotal engineering contacts and new industry contacts also proved invaluable.
According to Daniel Fitzsimons, of Quantum Controls, he wouldn't consider attending any other event. He said, “It's the only conference that we do attend because the people coming to the conference are engineers and the services we provide are directed back to the engineers.”
PIF encountered similar reports from exhibitors who were complimentary about the high calibre leads that emerged as a result of attending the conference.
Jason Dean, form MGA Controls said, “The conference today has been brilliant. We've met quite a few of the water company representatives – some that we haven't had any contact with before.”
Andy Wilson, from Hidrostal agreed saying, “Year on year it improves. We've had a tremendous day on the stand and we've picked up some very good quality leads.”
Top that Pump Centre. Well, as it happens that's exactly what they plan to do. Far from resting on their laurels, they've already begun exploring plans for an even bigger and better event for 2015.
